NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon on Sunday (Aug 16) said that India’s youth, driven by confidence, discipline and determination, would play a pivotal role in realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

"Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) by 2047 is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s defining national vision to transform India into a fully developed nation by the 100th year of its independence.

Attending the Independence Day celebrations at DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest, Tandon lauded the achievements of students in academics, sports and other fields, witnessed an impressive parade, and called upon the younger generation to actively contribute to nation-building.

Addressing the gathering, Tandon said, “The energy, discipline and enthusiasm of our students reflect the confidence of a new India. Their achievements in academics, sports and other fields are a matter of immense pride and demonstrate that the youth of our country are ready to lead India towards a brighter future.”

He called upon the youth to give their best to nation-building and play an active role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

He said that Independence Day was not merely an occasion to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters, but also an opportunity to renew the collective commitment to building a strong, inclusive and developed India.

Tandon congratulated Principal Anuja Sharma, the faculty, students and the entire DAV Model School family for organising a memorable Independence Day celebration.

He also called upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and contribute actively to building a Viksit Bharat.

Later, Tandon attended the Independence Day celebrations at the BJP Chandigarh office, ‘Kamalam’, in Sector 33, along with senior party leaders and workers. He joined BJP National Vice-President Saudan Singh, Chandigarh BJP President Jatinder Pal Malhotra, MP Satnam Sandhu, State General Secretary Rambir Bhatti and other office-bearers and workers in paying homage to the national flag.

“On this sacred occasion, we remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and reaffirm our resolve to contribute towards a Viksit Bharat. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is steadily moving towards becoming a progressive, self-reliant and developed nation,” Tandon said. - The Statesman/ANN
