MAE SOT: Twenty Myanmar nationals were arrested in Mae Sot district in Tak province after allegedly entering Thailand illegally, according to Thai media reports.
The arrests took place on July 24 in Tha Sai Luat subdistrict, where troops from the Ratchamanu Task Force under Thailand's 3rd Army Region were conducting security patrols to prevent illegal cross-border activities.
During the operation, authorities discovered a group of people hiding in a wooded area near the Mae Moei City shopping complex in Village No. 2 of Tha Sai Luat subdistrict. Upon inspection, the individuals were unable to produce valid travel documents, passports or other identification.
The group comprised 20 Myanmar nationals — 11 men and nine women — who were subsequently taken into custody for allegedly entering the country illegally.
According to Thai media reports, the detainees were handed over to the Mae Sot Immigration Office in Tak province for further legal proceedings under Thai immigration laws. - Eleven Media/ANN
