MANILA: Two Filipino seafarers were killed in recent drone strikes on ships operating in the northern Black Sea, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac said on Monday (June 20).
Twelve other Filipino seafarers were injured and another remains missing, he added.
According to Cacdac, as of July 20, nine ships carrying Filipino seafarers have reportedly been attacked while transiting the northern Black Sea or docking at ports in southern Ukraine.
The Black Sea is considered a high-risk and war-like zone by the International Bargaining Forum and the Department of Migrant Workers.
