MANILA (Xinhua): Two soldiers and three civilians were wounded after unidentified attackers threw a grenade at a passing military vehicle in Maguindanao del Sur province in the southern Philippines on Saturday, according to local authorities.
Police said the soldiers were traveling aboard a military truck when two motorcycle-riding men threw a grenade at the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The grenade landed on one side of the highway, not on the cargo deck of the vehicle, and went off.
All five victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while police and local authorities launched an investigation to identify and arrest the attackers. - Xinhua
