Myanmar exports over 1 million tons of beans, pulses, maize, sesame seeds in first three months of FY 2026-27


YANGON: Myanmar exported over 1 million tons of beans and pulses, maize and sesame seeds in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2026-27, which began in April, earning over US$538 million, according to the Myanmar Pulses, Beans, Maize and Sesame Seeds Merchants Association on Friday (July 10).

During the period, the country exported beans and pulses, maize and sesame seeds to more than 26 countries, with major markets including India, Thailand, and China, the association said.

Beans and pulses represent the second-largest crop cultivation area after rice, accounting for about 20 percent of the country's total agricultural land, it said. - Xinhua
