MANILA: Former Ateneo de Manila University men’s basketball team coach Tab Baldwin arrived at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, on Friday (June 19).

This is in connection with the CIDG’s investigation into the fatal drownings of Ateneo players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili during a training activity along the shore of Dipaculao, Aurora, earlier this month.

Baldwin arrived shortly before 8.30am.

Neither Baldwin nor his camp gave statements to the media. Reporters were also barred from approaching the CIDG headquarters.

The then-Ateneo men’s basketball head coach was previously subpoenaed by the CIDG last Monday, but his legal counsel appeared instead, prompting the police unit to issue a second subpoena.

Ateneo then announced his resignation in the wake of the incident. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
