Brunei warns of possible low water pressure and disruption during water tank cleaning


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Public Works Department (JKR) announced scheduled cleaning works for several water tanks in the Belait and Tutong districts later this month, which may result in low water pressure in affected areas.

According to notices issued by JKR, residents in Kg Keluyoh and surrounding areas will be affected by cleaning works for the Keluyoh ‘A’ water tank on May 18 from 8am until completion.

Meanwhile, cleaning works for the Andulau 1 water tank are scheduled for May 19 beginning at 8am. Areas expected to be affected include Mukim Labi, Mukim Bukit Sawat, Mukim Sukang, Mukim Melilas and nearby areas.

The Lumut National Housing II area and surrounding locations are also expected to experience disruptions on May 20 due to the cleaning of the ‘A2’ water tank from 8am onwards.

In addition, residents in Kg Sungai Mau, Kg Bukit Puan and nearby areas may experience low water pressure during the cleaning of the Andulau ‘2A’ water tank on May 23 starting at 8am until works are completed.

JKR also announced separate cleaning works for the Bukit Beruang (Lama) water tanks in the Tutong District. Tank 1 is scheduled for cleaning on May 19, while Tank 2 will undergo cleaning on May 20, with works beginning from 8.30am until completion.

Areas affected include the Bukit Beruang National Housing (Lama) area and surrounding locations.

The department advised that some areas, particularly those located on higher ground, may experience reduced water pressure during the maintenance period. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
