Vietnam sleeper bus crash leaves one dead


HANOI: The driver of a sleeper bus carrying 21 passengers was killed after the vehicle slammed into a tractor-trailer in Vietnam's southern city of Dong Nai on Tuesday (May 5), local media VnExpress reported.

At around 2 a.m. local time, the bus crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction on the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway in Nhon Trach ward, according to the report.

The impact crushed the front of the bus, killing the driver at the scene and seriously injuring the bus conductor.

The traffic was disrupted before authorities cleared the site, the report added. - Xinhua
