BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Acting Controller of Royal Customs and Excise Muhammad Azizil Hakim Brahim emphasised the need for customs administrations to remain adaptive, forward-looking, and resilient in navigating evolving global challenges and uncertainties, during the 44th Meeting of the Asean Coordinating Committee on Customs (CCC) in Bandar Seri Begawan on Tuesday (May 5).
He said supply chain resilience and transparency were critical, alongside the adoption of digitalisation and technological advancements to support seamless regional connectivity. He also highlighted the pivotal role of the CCC in advancing regional economic integration, facilitating trade, and ensuring effective implementation of ASEAN customs initiatives.
Muhammad Azizil Hakim underscored the importance of enhancing connectivity, transparency, and efficiency across borders to reinforce Asean’s position as a dynamic and integrated economic region.
The meeting, hosted by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance and Economy, was officially inaugurated yesterday.
The meeting is expected to serve as a platform for constructive dialogue, meaningful exchanges, and impactful outcomes that will further advance Asean’s shared objectives.
The commitment reflects Asean’s collective vision of unity, cooperation, and prosperity under the theme ‘One Vision, One Identity, One Community’.
Chaired by Deputy Controller of Customs Mohammad Mu’inuddin Chin Abdur Rahman, the meeting is conducted in a hybrid format, with participation from all Asean Member States, the Asean Secretariat, Asean Dialogue Partners and representatives from private sectors.
