Blind singer Azmi Saat opens a new chapter in his solo career with his latest single 'Satu'

After a decade building his name as the vocalist of Caliph Buskers, blind singer Azmi Saat is taking another significant step in his musical journey.

Azmi, 38, returns with a renewed spirit to strengthen himself as a solo artist through his latest release, "SATU." More than an experiment, the track stands as a confident declaration of this Mersing-born vocalist’s versatility and artistic maturity in his solo career.

Scheduled for release this February, "SATU" is composed by renowned singer-songwriter Naqiu, with poetic lyrics by Wit Mohsen. A spiritual ballad by genre, the work reflects Azmi’s maturity and depth as an artist.

According to Azmi, the melody captured his heart the very first time he heard it three years ago.

“Naqiu actually gave this song to me three years ago. We had previously worked together as duet partners on the Gegar Vaganza stage. Suddenly, Naqiu approached me with a melody that made me fall in love at first listen,” Azmi shares.

“The melody and lyrics are very close to my heart, as I have always loved songs with spiritual themes. It explores a meaningful love of a servant for the Creator. Without a second thought, I immediately agreed to Naqiu’s invitation to record this piece.”

Azmi also shared that the recording process was postponed several times due to Naqiu’s packed schedule. However, he believes there is a blessing in every delay.

“Although it has been ‘kept’ for a long time, ‘SATU’ is finally being realized at the perfect moment. Even more special, the song has been selected as the main Original Soundtrack (OST) for a 60-episode drama series airing on Astro Prima throughout the upcoming Ramadan month,” he added.

"SATU" was made available on all major digital streaming platforms starting from Jan 30. The hit single is from Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia dan MindOrder.
