The Melodi Glam Raya Runway took centre stage on March 12 when an unique fashion show on the MRT train enlivened the atmosphere throughout the journey from Bandar Utama MRT Station to Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).
From the moment the crowd awaited the train's arrival to the climax of the performance on the main stage, this event combined fashion, music, and entertainment into a glamorous Raya experience.
The excitement of the event began at the Bandar Utama MRT Station with a flash mob performance led by One In A Million (OIAM) talents Marygrace, Kai Deva, Jimi, and Mariam. It was also joined by Watsons Celebrity Friends, Sharifah Rose and Fahrin Ahmad, who together performed a special dance routine to the brand's Raya song, brightening the atmosphere of the event's opening.
The event then continued with the official flag-off session, officiated by a line-up of distinguished guests, marking the beginning of the special Melodi Glam Raya Runway train journey.
Inside the train, the guests were continuously entertained with a performance of the official Watsons Raya theme song by the One In A Million (OIAM) finalist before the atmosphere became even more lively with the melodious voice of Nabila Razali.
The runway segment then took place as a lineup of models showcased a range of skincare, makeup, personal care, and health products from the Watsons Brand Partners, perfect for completing Aidilfitri preparations. They also showcased Raya clothing and accessory collections from local fashion brands that are part of the TikTok Shop Brand Partners, while presenting fresh and versatile Aidilfitri style inspirations.
Interestingly, every product and style showcased is also displayed thru the "yellow bag" on TikTok Shop throughout the live broadcast, allowing viewers to purchase the featured items directly with special offers.
From Watsons products brought by models, to clothing and shoes including handbags, everything can be purchased directly thru the platform. This initiative also creates another new achievement under Melodi by introducing direct purchase integration thru the "yellow bag," while simultaneously opening up future collaboration opportunities with more brands and industry partners.
Throughout the journey, the atmosphere was interspersed with casual chats with Melodi hosts, Ain Edruce and Fikry Ibrahim, before the train made a brief stop at Pasar Seni MRT Station, witnessing the appearance of the next line of models.
The excitement of the event reached its peak at the MRT Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) Station, when the focus shifted to the main stage located at the concourse level of the station. Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri first appeared with an opening act before the official launch of the Melodi Glam Raya Runway.
The main stage was graced by the appearance of popular local singers including Aisha Retno, Amir Masdi, Nabila Razali, and Ernie Zakri, who warmed up the stage with their charming performances, entertaining the attendees.
The segment on the main stage also featured a runway show showcasing a range of products, with some products modeled by Watsons Ambassadors and Celebrity Friends, including Ayda Jebat, Che Puan Sarimah, Sharifah Rose, Fahrin Ahmad, Akmal Nazri, Lyssa Jean, and Mekyun.
With the theme "Glam Raya Style," Melodi Glam Raya Runway highlights the idea that an elegant Aidilfitri appearance can be achieved without spending a lot. This effort also reflects Melodi's commitment to uplifting local talents and brands, while opening up opportunities for collaboration between the worlds of fashion and entertainment.
