Chiang Rai's Phan district hit by 3.1-magnitude quake; tremors felt in several subdistricts


BANGKOK: Thailand’s Earthquake Observation Division reported a 3.1-magnitude earthquake in Sai Khao subdistrict, Phan district, Chiang Rai at 4:08pm on February 28, 2026, at a shallow depth of one kilometre. Tremors were felt in nearby areas, with no damage reported.

The Thai Meteorological Department’s Earthquake Observation Division reported an earthquake at 4:08pm on February 28, 2026, measuring 3.1 in magnitude. The epicentre was in Sai Khao Subdistrict, Phan District, Chiang Rai (19.686°N, 99.713°E).
