BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: French Government has conferred the National Defence Medal (Gold Grade) upon senior leaders of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The award presentation ceremony was held at the official residence of Ambassador of France to Brunei Darussalam Eve Lubin, who officiated the ceremony and presented the medals to the recipients on behalf of the President of the French Republic.
The recipients of the National Defence Medal (Gold Grade) are Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato Paduka Seri Muhammad Haszaimi Bol Hassan; and Deputy Commander RBAF Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif Ibrahim.

The National Defence Medal (Gold Grade) (Médaille de la Défense nationale – Échelon Or) is a prestigious military decoration of the French Republic, awarded to French and foreign military personnel who have demonstrated exceptional service and made significant contributions in support of France’s defence interests, including the advancement of international defence cooperation.
The award reflects the French Government’s recognition of the recipients’ leadership, professionalism, and sustained engagement in strengthening bilateral defence relations, as well as their commitment to promoting military collaboration, mutual trust, and institutional cooperation between the armed forces of Brunei Darussalam and France.
