YANGON: Myanmar’s parliament will convene on March 16, state media said on Monday (Feb 23), following a controversial multi-phase election that was won by a military-backed party.

The country has been in turmoil since the military ousted an elected government led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi in 2021. - Reuters
