The general met with Prime Minister Hun Manet in Phnom Penh on Thursday (Feb 12), to discuss the Cambodia-Thailand dispute and the strengthening of cooperation between their respective countries, according to the prime minister’s social media page.

Manet briefed him and a Filipino delegation on recent developments at the border and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to resolving the border issue peacefully, based on bilateral agreements, existing conventions and treaties, as well as international law.

He confirmed that the kingdom is firmly committed to respecting each of the agreements it had previously agreed with Thailand.

Brawner Jr stated that under the leadership of the Philippines, the AOT will continue to contribute to facilitating a peaceful resolution to the border issue.

According to Manet’s social media post, Brawner Jr. stated: “The Philippines has been following this issue closely and stands ready to continue leading the AOT with the aim of facilitating the resolution of the border issue impartially, intending to bring peace and long-lasting stability to both countries, as well as the entire region.” - The Phnom Penh Post/ANN
