BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The United States Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) conducted a specialised air domain awareness training programme with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) from Jan 26 to 29, 2026, at Rimba Air Force Base.
The training, led by a PACAF Air Domain Awareness Mobile Training Team, focused on strengthening Brunei Darussalam’s ability to monitor and secure its airspace. It comprised classroom sessions, hands-on exercises and joint discussions covering air surveillance techniques, threat detection and information-sharing practices.
According to a press release, the programme was aimed at enhancing the RBAF’s operational capabilities while promoting the exchange of best practices between the two forces.
The visit also underscored the longstanding defence partnership between the United States and Brunei Darussalam, reflecting continued cooperation to strengthen regional security and interoperability in the Indo-Pacific.
“We are honoured to work alongside our Bruneian counterparts to advance our shared security interests,” said Kevin Palko, lead instructor of the PACAF Mobile Training Team. “This training reflects our mutual dedication to building capacity and fostering cooperation in the region.”
