Brunei issues commemorative coins for Sultan's 60th wedding anniversary


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) has issued a series of commemorative products in conjunction with the 60th, or diamond jubilee, wedding anniversary of King of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and his consort, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.

In a statement on Thursday, the central bank said the commemorative release comprises gold, silver and cupronickel coins, all of which shall be legal tender in Brunei.

The BDCB also announced the issuance of a commemorative gold foil, marking the central bank's inaugural release of such a product.

The gold coins are made of 999.9 gold and weigh 31.1 grams. Silver coins are composed of 999 silver and also weigh 31.1 grams, while the cupronickel coins weigh 28 grams.  -- Xinhua
