BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: WeCare member Sri Munawwarah Lamat (Volunteer PR Officer) attended Philanthropic Leadership and Management for Non-Profits Training from Jan 5-7 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Organised by Hayat Yolu Indonesia in collaboration with Indiana University-Muslim Philanthropy Initiative and United Mission for Relief and Development (UMR) Institute, the course aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the role of philanthropy in non-profit success and how to align fundraising efforts with mission and values.

It also provided knowledge on the primary principles and techniques of fundraising, as well as how to work with volunteers and boards to build an effective team and apply fundraising techniques.

The training was led by Assistant Professor of Philanthropic Studies and Director of Muslim Philanthropy Initiative, Indiana University Dr Shariq A Siddiqui, and was joined by over 70 representatives from various non-governmental organisations across Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
