Tamil movie superstar Ajith Kumar wows fans at Sepang racing circuit and poses for photos with over 500 fans at the venue


SEPANG: Popular Indian actor Ajith Kumar has caused lots of excitement in Malaysia as he is currently racing in Sepang.

Ajith is leading his team, Ajith Redant Racing, in the 12 Hours Malaysia endurance race at the Sepang International Circuit from Friday to Saturday. His team was among the top eight finishers at the event.

Ajith, who has a strong fanbase in Malaysia, is competing in the GT3 class alongside Belgian brothers Ayrton Redant and Yannick Redant as well as Kobe de Breucker.

“It is a culmination of my dreams. Thanks to all the members of the team,” said Ajith.

Thousands of fans have been flocking to the venue since Friday, and many were there to meet the Tamil movie superstar. The top-tier actor obliged many fans and won many hearts when he stopped and took selfies with them.

It has been reported by the media that Ajith had even taken more than 500 selfies with his fans. And the popular actor has certainly caused lots of excitement in Malaysia as he is currently racing in Sepang.

Ajith is now leading his team, Ajith Redant Racing, in the 12 Hours Malaysia endurance race at the Sepang International Circuit today (Dec 5) until tomorrow (Dec 6).

In the Sepang series, Ajith thanked his fans for showing up for his races and talked about how he cuts out all the noise and attention while doing what he does on the track, as reported by Cinema Express.

Ajith said that he treats it similarly to shooting a film on set. "We have a lot of fans around, so we need to learn to switch on and switch off. I have probably been doing it for the last 33 years," the actor said.

"At the same time, I'm working with some of 'the best professionals' who guide me, and that includes a mental coach and a driving coach, to help confirm that I can maintain complete focus while racing."

The two-day event in Sepang marks the first-ever Far East stop for the 2025/2026 24H Series Middle East Trophy, with a grid of 21 cars featuring teams and drivers from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Race organisers Creventic confirmed Ajith's participation while social media posts showed the 54-year-old arriving at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this week.
