HANOI: The Vietnamese government has announced an additional list of 41 international border gates where foreigners may use e-visas for entry and exit, the government portal reported Wednesday (Dec 3).

The newly added list includes four airports, 11 land border gates and 26 seaports, according to the report.

In 2023, Vietnam approved 42 international border gates eligible for e-visa use.

With the latest expansion, the total number of international border gates accepting e-visas has increased to 83, local daily VnExpress reported.

An e-visa differs from a traditional visa in both its issuance format and application process.

Foreign nationals submit applications and receive results online without having to visit diplomatic missions or obtain an entry approval letter as previously required, the report said. - Xinhua
