Brunei pushes ahead with national digital transformation


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei's ambitions to accelerate national digital transformation took centre stage Wednesday (Dec 3) as senior policymakers, industry leaders and regional stakeholders convened for the Brunei Digital Economy Forum 2025, local media reported.

According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin, the forum focussed on strengthening digital infrastructure, governance frameworks and innovation ecosystems to support the nation's digital future.

In his keynote address, Mohammad Nazri Mohammad Yusof, permanent secretary at the Brunei's Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, underscored the importance of building strong foundations in infrastructure, connectivity and governance to drive Brunei's transition into a Smart Nation.

He highlighted ongoing efforts under the Brunei Digital Economy Master Plan 2025, which aims to enhance digital government services, expand innovation in fintech and e-commerce, and support the long-term goals of Brunei Vision 2035. - Xinhua
