NEW DELHI: US President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr, visited the world famous Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra on his India tour on Thursday (Nov 20).

In his visit to the ivory-white marble mausoleum, he posed for a photo with his wife, Vanessa Trump, on the Diana Bench.

Vanessa Trump wore a red Western dress, while Trump Jr was in a white outfit. He spent about an hour at the Taj Mahal complex after arriving there at around 3.30pm.

Guide Nitin Singh showed Trump Jr around. He was also the official guide for Donald Trump and Melania Trump during their visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra in February 2020.

Trump Jr arrived at Agra’s Kheria Airport by special flight at 1.30pm. From the airport, they went to Hotel Amar Vilas Oberoi. The guests stayed there for a while and had lunch, then went to the Taj Mahal.

He was accompanied by 126 special guests from 40 countries. From the Taj Mahal, Trump Jr left for the airport at 4.30pm and took a special flight to Jamnagar.

In 2020, US President Donald Trump visited Agra with his family. Trump and his wife, Melania, walked about a kilometre and a half around the Taj Mahal campus and even had a photo op. In the visitor’s book, Trump wrote, “The building is a symbol of India’s rich culture.”

Meanwhile, strict security arrangements were made for Junior Trump’s arrival in Agra by the local police.

Forces from several police stations were deployed, and the local intelligence system was also on alert.

Some US security personnel were also accompanying the guests. Upon entering the Taj Mahal, the CISF established a security cordon, and the Taj Mahal was viewed under tight security. - The Statesman/ANN
