VIENTIANE: Princess Aiko, the daughter of Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, began her first official overseas visit to Laos on Monday (Nov 17), marking a historic milestone in bilateral relations as the two countries celebrate 70 years of diplomatic ties.

President Thongloun Sisoulith warmly welcomed Princess Aiko, saying her official visit marks a historic moment in the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Laos and Japan.
