Sultan of Brunei looks forward to visiting Vietnam in December

KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Tuesday (Oct 28) attended a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.

Accompanying the Ruler was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen. During the bilateral meeting, Sultan Hassanal looked forward to visiting Vietnam in December and to strengthening the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, who have enjoyed enduring collaboration in trade, energy and people-to-people exchanges.

The Plan of Action in place will further enhance mutually beneficial areas.

In addition, the monarch expressed pleasure that both countries work closely to expand trade linkages through halal cooperation and aquaculture, as well as through oil and gas exploration activities. Both leaders exchanged also views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam enjoy a strong and growing comprehensive partnership, which was established in 2019.

The bilateral relationship, which began in 1992, has been reinforced through high-level diplomatic exchanges, robust trade, and increased cooperation in several sectors. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
