SINGAPORE: Britain’s Princess Anne will be travelling to Singapore in November to mark 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The Princess Royal will be accompanied by her husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, during her two-day visit on Nov 12 and 13, according to the royal family’s official website.
Princess Anne, 75, is the sister of King Charles III. She is the second child and only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
She is reported to have visited Singapore at least twice previously – most recently in 2016 for the 27th Commonwealth Agriculture Conference.
In her role as president of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth, she visited the Kranji War Cemetery, which is managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, where she laid a wreath and met representatives of the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans’ League.
Her first visit to Singapore was in 1972, as a 22-year-old, when she accompanied her parents on a state visit. It was the second stop on a South-East Asia tour. - The Straits Times/ANN
