Filipino Daniel Padilla among outstanding Asian stars at 2025 Seoul Drama Awards; Malaysian Anna Jobling also a winner


SEOUL (ABS-CBN News): 2025 Seoul International Drama Awards Outstanding Asian Star awardee from the Philippines Daniel Padilla graced the red carpet of the annual event at the KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea.

Daniel, who wore a three-piece pinstripe suit designed by Ryan Viloria and Gekko Studios, was welcomed by cheers from Pinoy and some Korean fans, reported ABS-CBN News.

"This is a great honour for me" says DJ who appreciated the fans who cheered for him during the short programme. "I just want to thank my friends and my family for their endless support and unconditional love. Mama, I made it. And to all my fans and supporters, thank you for your continued support and unwavering love, kayo ang dahilan kung bakit ako nandito. Maraming salamat,” he stated.

Karla Estrada, who also flew to Seoul to watch the awards night said this is a proud moment for her and the whole family. "Speechless and thankful to our Korean fans.

During the ceremonies, Daniel received the Outstanding Asian Star award together with other asian stars Film Mahawan from Thailand, Kentaro Sakaguchi from Japan and Anna Jobling from Malaysia.

During his acceptance speech, Daniel thanked the team behind his successful action-drama series 'Incognito,' from ABS-CBN executives, co-stars and the fans who voted for him in the SDA poll.

"Good evening everyone, first and foremost, thank you Lord, I'm truly honoured to be here tonight to receive this award, thank you so much Seoul International Drama Awards for this recognition. I want to thank my 'Incognito' and Star Creatives family, Ms. Des de Guzman, our directors Lester Pimentel, Wong Yan Bin, and Ian Lorenos. I also want to thank my co-stars, Ian Veneracion, Richard Gutierrez, Baron Geisler, Anthony Jennings, Maris Racal, and Kaila Estrada."

"Our stunt team for Action 360, our tactical instructors, Benjo Ramos and Patrick Caballero, my Star Magic family and home network, ABS-CBN. I also want to thank my friends and my family for their endless support and unconditional love. Mama, I made it."

"And to all the fans, thank you for your continuous support and unwavering love. You are the reason why I'm here. Thank you so much."

Among other winners in the same category was also Malaysian much-loved actress Anna Jobling together with Korean actors Kim Seon-ho and Jisoo, Chinese actor Yu Bai, Thai actress Film Rachanun Mahawan, and Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.

Anna was also a big favourite in Seoul as she walked the red carpet of SDA 2025 with her graceful appearance and charming smile that became the focus of many. 

Not hiding her excitement to be on the international stage, Anna shared her desire to enjoy this moment to the fullest, “After this award, I want to explore all the beautiful places in Seoul, take beautiful photos and meet many people,” she said with a smile, clearly showing her cheerful and humble personal side even though she is now standing in line with big Asian stars as according to a press release from TV3.

She bagged the award thanks to a brilliant and searing performance in the TV3 drama “Hai Cinta, Dengarkanlah!”
