Media Prima Television Networks had garnered success at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2025, securing the title of National Winner in three categories: Best Original Production by a Streamer (Fiction) for the drama BRU (Tonton), Best Lifestyle Programme for Click To Health Season 4 (8TV), and Best Animation for Ejen Ali The Movie 2 (Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation).
This achievement qualifies Media Prima and its creative partners to compete against the best representatives from the Asia Pacific region at the Grand Awards and Gala Finals, scheduled to take place at the Capitol Theatre in Singapore from Dec 3-4.
The drama BRU, directed by Nik Amir Mustapha of Lumatic Films, was announced as the winner of the Best Original Production by a Streamer (Fiction) category at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2025.
Featuring a formidable cast of local actors, the drama stars Shukri Yahaya as Shah, a man obsessed with coffee and success, alongside Siti Hariesa as Hani, a talented barista and the daughter of a wealthy businessman who yearns for the freedom to create her own coffee blends.
The performance of Amerul Affendi as Ajan, a loyal friend who treats Shah like a younger brother, was also highly commended.
Together, they make BRU an emotionally rich piece about ambition and friendship that has resonated deeply with audiences.
The Best Lifestyle Programme award was won by 8TV for Click To Health Season 4.
Hosted by Desmond Tey, the programme takes viewers on a comprehensive exploration of health issues, focusing on current topics and providing insight into various modern medical methods.
What makes this programme unique is that filming takes place not only in examination rooms but also includes operating theatres and emergency rooms, offering viewers a deeper, more realistic perspective.
Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation secured the Best Animation award for the film Ejen Ali The Movie 2, directed by Usamah Zaid Yasin.
This visually stunning and emotionally charged action-animation film continues the journey of the character Ali on a high-stakes mission under the elite SATRIA programme.
The sequel was met with a phenomenal reception, grossing over RM62.5 million at the box office in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia, and Thailand. It also had a phenomenal reception at the Osaka Expo 2025 recently.
This success makes EATM2 the number one animated film in Malaysia, breaking previous records and surpassing all local and international animated works ever screened in the country.
