Five top Indonesian singers and among the very best in the Nusantara music scene - Tulus, Sal Priadi, Dere, Idgitaf, and Kunto Aji - are coming together and are geared up to rock the 'Tur Sama Sama' concert in Kuala Lumpur city centre at the Idea Live Arena on Dec 5.
This concert is not just a gathering of five artists, but a cultural project that celebrates the musical brotherhood of the Nusantara archipelago.
After closing a series of concerts in Bogor, Indonesia, last May, Tulus announced to the thousands of fans in attendance: “The good news is that we will continue our journey. We are going to Malaysia.”
Those words have now become reality. Kuala Lumpur will be the fifth city in the tour series after Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Bogor. For Malaysian fans, it is exciting news because it is rare for a collaboration of this magnitude to reach here.
As co-organisers of the show, PT Expo Indonesia Jaya (ExpoIndo), Tiga Dua Satu, and Thrive are pleased to be able to realise the promise of the five members of the 'Tur Sama Sama' Tour to visit Malaysia.
“Of course, the announcement of the tour to be held at the Idea Live Arena is a big dream that we as organisers are almost realizing after receiving a warm welcome in Indonesia,” said Udzir Harris from Thrive, and also representing the other two hosts.
"Tulus, Kunto Aji, Dere, Sal Priadi, and Idgitaf will be coming here with the theme of an unusual collaboration on the Tur Sama Sama Tour, which is also a promise because they are aware that the fans' appreciation for them is big in Malaysia.
"The five are promising nothing but the best for their fans come Dec 5. It has been a very successful event in Indonesia, and I hope it continues to go big in Malaysia."
Tulus is undeniably the most recognisable face in this lineup. With his warm voice and soul-touching lyrics, he has often been a loyal companion to fans in their happy and sad moments. Songs like "Monokrom and Hati-Hati di Jalan" have become deeply ingrained in the hearts of many, including Malaysian audiences.
Kunto Aji, who hit the limelight from talent competitions in Indonesia, is now considered one of the foremost musicians to experiment with emotional and psychological themes. His album "Mantra Mantra", for example, became a phenomenon because it honestly touches on mental health issues.
Sal Priadi is also no stranger to many fans in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. He has also performed in Malaysia on several occasions. Known as a poet on the music stage, Sal Priadi is known for his dramatic lyrics, energetic expressions, and energetic performances. Each of his songs is like a small theatre, taking the audience into the story he has created.
Sal Priadi added that it was always a dream for the five singers to perform together in Malaysia: "It will be different for the fans. There will be solo performances, followed also by collaboration from duo, trio, quartet, and even a quintet act for the fans."
Meanwhile, Dere is a young and dynamic new star of Indonesian music. The 23-year-old's emergence proves that a new generation of Indonesian musicians are not afraid to display tenderness and honesty in their work. Her soft voice is often described as “the voice that calms the restless.”
Idgitaf is the voice of Generation Z. With her boldness in experimenting with alternative pop styles and innocent honesty, she brings a fresh perspective. The 24-year-old's tunes and songs often resonate with young people because they are full of unvarnished honesty.
Held in four cities in Indonesia, the "Tur Sama Sama" show received an overwhelming response. Tickets were sold out, audiences left feeling amazed and in awe of the musicians, and entertainment media called it one of the most successful collaboration tours of the year in Indonesia.
Because of their strong roots and support in the Nusantara region, the five stars decided to also have a show in KL, where they have a very strong support base.
Tickets for the show went on sale on Monday (Sept 29). Starting from RM228, there are 11 ticket categories for the show - Bronze, Crystal, Silver, Diamond, Gold, Platinum, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Emerald Extra, and Group Suite. Tickets are available from BBO events and samasamatur.com.
