Newborn twins found lifeless in alley of Cotabato town, Philippines

KIDAPAWAN CITY, (Philippines): Residents of the sub-village of Tamlang, Barangay Malabuaya in Kabacan town, Cotabato province found the bodies of newborn twins early morning on Sunday (Sept 14).

Ramon Malidas, a villager, was fetching water from a pump around 6am when he saw something wrapped inside a blanket in an alley about four meters away from the pump.

This briefly caused a stir among the villagers but when they opened what was inside the blanket, they saw the bodies of newborn twins, their umbilical cord still uncut.

Junjun Antelino, another resident, called the village officials and the police.

Police believed that the babies were intentionally abandoned.

They were trying to secure copies of closed-circuit television footage near the place to possibly track down the persons responsible. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
