KUALA LUMPUR: After six years of anticipation, “The Journey to the Far East: Maher Zain - The Live Experience (Kuala Lumpur)” finally lit up the stage at Idea Live Arena, 3 Damansara, over the weekend.
Organised by Yayasan Tengku Abdullah (YTA) in collaboration with concert promoters Hitman Solutions and Happymoon, the event drew more than 5,000 fans who came together to celebrate the long-awaited return of world-renowned spiritual music artist Maher Zain.
By late afternoon, thousands had already begun to gather, with an eager crowd spanning teenagers, young couples, and families, reflecting the artist’s timeless appeal across generations.
The night opened with “Assalamu Alayka”, one of Maher Zain’s most iconic songs, instantly transforming the hall into a chorus of voices singing in unison.
For almost two hours, Maher Zain delivered a repertoire of his most beloved hits that have shaped the spiritual journeys of millions worldwide.
Tracks such as “InshaAllah”, “Alayka Salla Allah”, “Baraka Allahu Lakuma”, “Close To You”, and “For The Rest of My Life” carried the audience through waves of emotions. Some shed tears, others embraced family members, while many raised their hands as they embraced a profound sense of peace and gratitude.
The atmosphere reached its peak as thousands of voices joined in almost every song, creating a harmony that felt like a heartfelt reunion between Maher Zain and his Malaysian fans.
“Tonight, I am truly moved. Malaysia will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for your unwavering support over the past decade. Insha Allah, I will return,” the singer expressed his gratitude, before closing the night with “Ya Nabi Salam Alayka”.
