BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Brunei Darussalam National Photography Organisation (PFNBD) organised a Youth PhotoWalk last Sunday (Aug 10) in celebration of International Photography Day.

The event began at the atrium of the Yayasan Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital and covered various locations around the capital.

A total of 33 youth participants, aged between 15 and 35, took part in the activity. The PhotoWalk was officially flagged off by PFNBD President Pengiran Sulaiman Pengiran Mohammad Salleh, and attended by the organisation’s advisers.

Throughout the walk, participants were accompanied and guided by PFNBD members serving as mentors.

Photographs captured during the event will be submitted for judging, with prizes awarded to the top three entries at PFNBD’s Appreciation Night on Aug 23.

As a follow-up, a sharing and critique session on the PhotoWalk submissions will be held on 17 August.

PFNBD stated that the initiative aims to contribute to the creative industry, identify potential young photographers, and provide guidance to help them improve the quality of their work and advance the art of photography in the country.

The organisation hopes to make the PhotoWalk an annual event and welcomes support from more agencies to help realise the nation’s aspirations under Brunei Vision 2035. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
