Teacher found dead with eight stab wounds in Myanmar forest


YANGON: A private school teacher in Myeik was stabbed to death with eight stab wounds, and police are on the hunt for the perpetrators.

On Tuesday (July 8), a man was found dead in a forest near the sand field in Shwe Pyi Tan Ward, Myeik Taung Village Tract, Myeik Township.

The deceased was identified as Maung Thiha Win, 28, from Myeik township.

An examination of the deceased revealed that he had suffered five stab wounds to the left/right abdomen and three stab wounds to the back above the waist, and was found lying on his back.

According to the investigation led by police and the village administration team, Maung Thiha Win left his house alone at around 9pm on July 7 and did not return.

His father U Win Nyunt filed a complaint with the Myeik police station to investigate and take action against the person who caused the death of his son.

The case is filed under Section 302 of the Penal Code (P) 144/2025, Case No. (4/2025) and investigation is underway. - Eleven Media/ANN
