Brunei inks agreements for mega solar project in its efforts for renewable energy transition


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei has signed agreements to establish a 30-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant in the country, the local daily Borneo Bulletin has reported.

The project, which is to be located at Belimbing near Bandar Seri Begawan, will be a crucial step in the country's renewable energy initiative.

It will be a mega government-led solar project and the first large-scale solar effort under a public-private partnership.

The project will boost the country's renewable energy capacity and support the target of attaining 30 percent renewable energy by 2035. - Xinhua
