Three dead in Nepal after under-construction bridge collapses


KATHMANDU: (Bernama-Xinhua) Three workers were killed and three others injured after an under-construction bridge collapsed in eastern Nepal on Saturday (June 14) evening, according to police on Sunday (June 15), Xinhua reported.

The bridge was being constructed to connect Panchthar and Taplejung districts when it broke down at 6.30pm local time, leaving six workers wounded.

"Three of them died in the course of treatment," Rupesh Tamang, spokesperson for Panchthar district police, told Xinhua. He noted that one of the injured was in "serious condition". - Bernama-Xinhua
