Magnitude 5.3 earthquake strikes northernmost Mongolia


ULAANBAATAR: A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was recorded at 18:22:57 on June 4 in the Shaanii Uul area, located 71 km northwest of Ulaan-Uul soum centre and 230 km north of the Khuvsgul province centre, near Mungarag in Ulaan-Uul.

The Emergency Management Agency received notification of the quake via email at 18:31 from the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
