Six men in Singapore charged over child sexual exploitation offences, including commercial sex with 12-year-old

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Six men aged between 22 and 41 were charged on May 23 over child sexual exploitation offences.

Kok Chuan Yuan, 37, faces two charges relating to commercial sex with a person under 18.

Court documents state that the victim was a 12-year-old girl to whom he had promised $50 for sexual services in November 2024.

He had then allegedly kissed her body and touched her over her shorts.

The police said he had befriended the girl online prior to performing the sexual acts on her.

Aloysius Lim Jia En, 25, faces eight charges for the sexual penetration of a minor under the age of 16.

He had allegedly contacted the girl online and engaged her for commercial sex.

Court documents indicate that the acts took place on at least three occasions in a flat in November and December 2023.

George Lee Ji Qiang, 22, faces one charge each for the possession of child abuse material on his mobile phone and possession of obscene films.

He allegedly had with him not fewer than 100 films containing child abuse material and 55 obscene films.

Hairil Fitri Hairulsahfudin, 30, Michael Li Qing’An, 41, and Tan Jia Jun, 35, each face one charge of possession of child abuse material.

The three men allegedly each had in their possession not fewer than 100 pieces of child abuse material contained in their devices.

The six men were each offered bail of between $15,000 and $20,000.

Those convicted of commercial sex with a person under 18 may be jailed for up to seven years and fined.

Those convicted of possession of child abuse material may be jailed for up to five years, fined and caned. - The Straits Times/ANN
