ALL 30 people on board an Indonesian-registered vessel were rescued after it capsized in waters northeast of Pedra Branca, within Singapore’s maritime search and rescue region, authorities said.
In a statement, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore said the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Singapore received an alert at 7.20am local time on Monday from a Hong Kong-registered containership reporting the incident.
A Liberia-registered bulk carrier was directed to the scene and successfully rescued all 30 individuals from the water yesterday.
The rescued persons are expected to be disembarked in Batam, Indonesia. — Xinhua
