Beloved modern retro band MASDO marked a decade in the music industry with a celebration that was both unique and surprising on Wednesday (April 30).
Held at Saloma in Kuala Lumpur, the event titled “Perjumpaan Ahli Mesyuarat Tingkap” lit up the night on 30 April 2025 at 9:00pm, drawing in over 200 loyal fans and media friends.
They also announced after the event, they will be coming out with a new album to celebrate their 10th year anniversary which includes a full-blown concert in KL in August.
'It's been an exciting ride'
Masdo members Ali Sariah, Asmawi, and Putu Ceri said after the event in an interview with The Star that they were thankful to all their fans who have supported them throughout their career.
"I thank all the fans. For them to turn up here itself is a fantastic gift for all of us," said Ali.
"It has been an exciting ride. The last 10 years was full of ups and downs but also being able to break into the Indonesian market is indeed an achievement for the group.
"This event is a gift for the fans and for their super support. We will be also showcasing our new album soon. Work has been going steadily in this area and we want this album to be very special.
"We are working to ensure the concert in August to be a special one too. I hope the fans who have been with us also be there for the concert. This is a gift for them too."
Mysterious & Enticing Teasers on Instagram
Days before the event, fans began speculating after MASDO members Ali Sariah, Asmawi, and Putu Ceri posted cryptic messages on their Instagram accounts, hinting that a big announcement was on the way. The mystery was finally unveiled during the secret meet-up.
A Mini Nostalgic Showcase
As a gesture of appreciation to their fans, MASDO delivered an exclusive live mini showcase, Perjumpaan Ahli Mesyuarat Tingkap—featuring a selection of their nostalgic hits. Among the songs performed were “Dinda”, “Lautan Asmara”, “Janji Manis”, “Bunga”, and “Berchanda di Malam Indah”, which brought the atmosphere to life and had the audience singing along.
MASDO’s 10th Anniversary Concert Announcement
The highlight of the evening came when MASDO symbolically revealed the official poster for their 10th Anniversary Concert. A cloth draped over the MATIC building was dramatically pulled down, unveiling the date and venue of the much-awaited concert, ‘Al-Kisah Masdo Sepuloh Tahun’, organised by Hitman Solutions, is set to take place this 30th August at Idea Live Arena KL @ 3 Damansara.
This concert will take place at Malaysia's newest concert venue, Idea Live Arena KL @ 3 Damansara, with MASDO being the first artist to announce their show at this exciting new location.
With a capacity of up to 7,000 pax, the concert promises an intimate yet vibrant experience as the band celebrates their 10th anniversary with fans.
Fans can pre-register from 30 April to 1 May to enjoy the Rockzone Early Bird price of RM128. Those who miss the pre-registration window can still secure their tickets during the Public Sale, with prices set at RM148 for Rockzone (Free Standing) and RM198 for Category 1 (Free Seating).
