PHNOM PENH: (Bernama) The Asean Unity Drive 2025 continued its journey after a stop in Cambodia's capital Wednesday (April 30) morning, following visits to Vietnam and Laos.

Four vehicles and eight crew members, travelling through the rugged terrains of the Asean countries to promote regional integration and sustainable mobility, arrived in Phnom Penh early Wednesday morning.

Their next stop is Bangkok, Thailand before heading off to Malaysia.

The adventure - featuring Proton e.MAS 7 (electric vehicles) and Proton X Series vehicles - is organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MiTi)

The Proton e.MAS 7 is the official electric vehicle of the Asean Unity Drive 2025, according to a MARii statement.

"The Asean Unity Drive serves as a beacon of Asean solidarity, innovation and sustainable progress.

"We are proud to see Cambodia playing a vital role in this meaningful regional journey that promotes economic connectivity and shared technological advancement,” Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia Shaharuddin Onn told the media after the flagging-off ceremony at the Malaysian Embassy’s premises on Wednesday (April 30).

The convoy is anticipated to complete its journey at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, which will be held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park in Serdang, from May 9 to 15. - Bernama
