Six taken to hospital after fire at Singapore's People’s Park Complex

SINGAPORE: Six people were taken to hospital following a fire at People’s Park Complex in Chinatown early on Monday (April 21).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a fire there at about 4.35am.

The fire involved cleaning supplies and equipment in a storage area on Level 6 of the residential and commercial building, said the SCDF, adding that the fire was extinguished using a water jet.

Six people were taken to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

One Xiaohongshu user said she was woken up after 4am to leave her residence on the top floor of the building. - The Straits Times/ANN
