Three Bruneians fined for littering

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Three local individuals have been issued with compounds after law enforcers from the Licensing and Enforcement Section, Brunei Muara District Office (JDBM) caught them disposing rubbish illegally at the Jerudong Beach area on separate occasions and day last week.

Mohammad Akif Roslan was fined BND300 while Mohamad Azli Mohamad Azahari and Eisah Hashim were issued with a compound where both were required to pay a fine of BND100 each.

These offences violates Section 12 (1) (a) the Miscellaneous Act (Chapter 30).

The individuals have been given seven days to settle the fines and failure to do so will lead the case to be brought to court under Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Act where if found guilty, the penalty is not more than BND9,000 for individual or imprisonment of 12 months or both. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
