Laos continues to improve vocational education

VIENTIANE: Laos continues to improve vocational education and increase employment opportunities with the launch of the second phase of the Vocational Training and Employment Support Services project.

The project, which began in October 2024 and will run until 2027, builds on previous successes while introducing new initiatives to support youth, particularly in rural and disadvantaged communities, according to the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports on Friday (March 14).

Speaking at the launch ceremony on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Dalavone Kittiphan highlighted the project's role in addressing youth dropouts and economic hardships, noting that over 1,186 young people have been supported through vocational training, employment counseling, and self-employment initiatives. - Xinhua
