VIENTIANE: Tan Chong Motor (Lao) Co., Ltd. (TCML), the sole and exclusive distributor of Nissan vehicles in Laos and a subsidiary of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad (Malaysia), has officially launched the new Nissan Terra Sport - a premium family SUV for adventure-seekers and urban drivers.

At the same event, TCML announced its achievement of the Nissan Global Award 2024, recognising its outstanding sales performance and commitment to customer satisfaction within the Nissan Importer Business Unit (NIBU) region.

Speaking at the launch event, Managing Director of Tan Chong Motor Laos, Loh Ling Howe, introduced the latest addition to Nissan’s SUV lineup.

“The new Nissan Terra Sport is designed for families who enjoy adventure while ensuring everyday urban convenience. It boasts innovative and advanced technologies for a confident and enjoyable drive,” he said.

The new Nissan Terra Sport features a striking black-themed exterior and interior, enhancing its sporty appeal. Design highlights include a black front grille, glossy black front and rear bumper finishers, black door mirrors, roof rail and fender garnish, black shark fin antenna and rear spoiler, black premium sporty interior, and 18-inch black alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet, the 2.5-litre in-line 4-cylinder DOHC variable turbocharged engine delivers 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, ranking among the best in its class.

Equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, the SUV ensures a smooth and powerful driving experience. The 4WD system allows seamless switching between two-wheel drive (2H) and four-wheel drive (4H), enhancing off-road capabilities. The multi-link rear suspension improves ride comfort and stability when navigating curves.

Inside, the new Nissan Terra Sport offers premium comfort with a black leather-trimmed dashboard and an 8-inch advanced touchscreen display audio system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Bose Premium Audio System with eight speakers further enhances the experience, along with an 11-inch LCD monitor with HDMI connectivity.

At the launch event, Tan Chong Motor (Lao) Co., Ltd. also celebrated its win in the Nissan Global Award 2024 Programme, which recognises the company’s excellence in sales, customer service, and overall contribution to Nissan’s business in fiscal year 2023.

This award positions Tan Chong Motor Lao as the top performer among 13 eligible markets within the NIBU region.

Loh said “Despite economic challenges, our team has shown resilience and dedication to delivering excellence. This award is a testament to our commitment to providing quality vehicles and top-notch service to our customers.”
