Over 11 kg of "happy water", 3 kg ketamine seized in central Myanmar


YANGON: Myanmar authorities have seized 11.635 kg of "happy water", a synthetic drug, 3.6 kg of ketamine, and various other illegal substances in central Myanmar, the state-run daily The Mirror reported on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police raided a suspect's house in Mahaaungmyay township of Mandalay region on Jan. 23 and confiscated three kg of "happy water", the report said.

According to the investigation, 3.6 kg of ketamine, 8.635 kg of "happy water", 40 ecstasy tablets, 150 happy-5 tablets, 280 stimulant tablets and five grams of Ice (methamphetamine) were seized from another suspect's house in the same township.

The seized drugs were valued at over 1.4 billion kyats (about US$660,000), the report said. - Xinhua
