European Union to provide €1.2 million for Myanmar's flood relief


YANGON: (Bernama-Xinhua) The European Union (EU) has allocated up to €1.2 million in humanitarian aid to assist people severely impacted by Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar, the state-run daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Wednesday (Sept 25), according to Xinhua.

The EU has provided €2.2 million in humanitarian aid to support people affected across several Southeast Asian countries.

Of the total, up to €1.2 million will be for Myanmar's humanitarian responses, €650,000 for Vietnam, €200,000 for the Philippines and €150,000 for Laos.

In Myanmar, 419 people have died in flood-related incidents as of Tuesday morning, official data showed. - Bernama-Xinhua
