Man jailed 10 months, gets one whipping, for assaulting wife in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Mohd Faizal Jamil, a 40-year-old local, was recently sentenced by the Intermediate Court for assaulting his wife.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge of assaulting his wife on May 14, leading to his conviction.

On June 3, the court handed the defendant a sentence of 10 months’ imprisonment and one whipping. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
