Brunei Investment Agency denies involvement in schemes over Telegram, Facebook


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Brunei Investment Agency (BIA) in a statement said it was made aware that investment scams on Telegram groups and Facebook accounts have been using the agency’s name and logo as well as its employees.

BIA clarified in a statement that it is not involved in the investment schemes and that it is not affiliated with these fraudulent accounts.

The agency is a statutory corporation whose objective is to manage the General Reserve Fund of Brunei Darussalam and does not issue any investment products or schemes as well as solicit for funds or investments from members of the public, it added. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
