Singapore F-16 crash caused by component malfunction and fleet to resume flying, says defence ministry

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): The cause of the crash of the F-16C single-seat fighter jet inside Tengah Air Base on May 8 has been determined, and the F-16 fleet will resume flying.

In a statement on May 18, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said the flight data recorder recovered from the crashed F-16 showed that its pitch rate gyroscopes had given erroneous inputs to the flight control computer.
