BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Mohd Norazmiee Danan was handed a 16-month jail sentence on Saturday after he pleaded guilty to posessing stolen property.

Magistrate Abdul ‘Azim Othman handed the 26-year-old defendant the sentence. The defendant pleaded guilty to three charges levelled by prosecutor Abdul Musawwir Mahli.

The prosecution revealed that the defendant was found retaining stolen items at a house he resides in Jalan Mulaut, Ban 5 with another person, following investigations of belongings going missing from neighbouring houses and areas, including a business premise.

A house was reported ransacked on October 23 in Kampong Tanjong Nangka and another house owner in Ban 5 reported missing items on September 29. A business premise in Kampong Jerudong was reported to have been broken into and items have gone missing.

All the incidents led to the defendant’s arrest. The stolen items ranged from electrical home appliances to gadgets.
