Heavy flooding hits Brunei's Belait districts after overnight rainfall


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Several low-lying areas in the Belait District saw an increase in water levels and flooding after the heavy overnight rainfall over the last two days.

The areas affected include Kampong Sungai Teraban, Kampong Mumong and the Mumong Sports Complex, Kampong Panaga, Kampong Pandan and the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital.

Several clinics were also affected by the floods, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Health. Operations at affected clinics will be temporarily suspended to make way for repairs and clean-up, which are expected to take a day to complete. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
